Taihe County Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall

The Taihe County Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall was first built in 1974. In April 1992, construction of its new site began in “Guotai Square” at the intersection of Jinghu West Road and Guotai Road. It was completed and opened to the public before the Qingming Festival in 1998. Its main structures include the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, the Memorial Plaza, and the Exhibition Hall of Martyrs’ Deeds. The memorial hall is set in a beautiful environment, surrounded by pine and cypress trees as well as floral greenery. The plaza is spacious, making it an open-themed square that integrates visiting, paying tribute, learning, and more. It serves as a key site for patriotic and traditional education for people from all walks of life. The martyrs’ memorial hall has collected and displayed historical accounts, cultural materials, and photos of 634 martyrs from various periods, including the First Revolutionary Civil War, the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Liberation War, the Korean War, and the period of socialist construction—totaling over 1,200 items. The exhibition hall showcases the struggles and heroic deeds of 48 revolutionary martyrs.

For many years, the memorial hall has consistently adhered to the purpose of “commemorating martyrs and educating future generations,” and the goal of “cultivating patriotism and inspiring dedication.” It fully leverages its role as a patriotic education base, having received over 400,000 visitors from all sectors of society since 1998.
