Yuan Guo, located discreetly in the alleys of SiSiNan Village near Taipei 101 in Xinyi District, is a restaurant co-owned by celebrity Rainie Yang and her parents. In addition to serving refined hot pot dishes, the home-style cooking prepared by Yang’s parents is also a big hit, often praised for its comforting, home-cooked taste. Renowned film director John Woo, actress Ruby Lin, and actor Eddie Peng have all dined here. Originating in Taichung, Wulao Hot Pot is a health-focused hot pot brand under the Ding Wang Group, alongside Ding Wang Spicy Hot Pot. Embracing a modern and stylish dining concept centered around wellness, it’s considered one of today’s top-tier healthy hot pot options known for its nourishing and beautifying benefits. Known as “one of the restaurants most frequently featured in entertainment news,” Taihe Palace is famous for its bold-flavored, numbing (but not spicy) broth thanks to its owner’s signature recipe. Because the broth is quite salty, diners can enjoy the ingredients without dipping sauces. It’s a favorite of Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau and Nicholas Tse, who make it a must-eat whenever they have time during their visits to Taiwan. Aaron Kwok, one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Hong Kong, almost always heads straight to Taihe Palace upon landing in Taiwan, proving just how well the restaurant satisfies the palates of Hong Kong stars.

Operating for over 20 years, the veteran brand Zhan Ji Spicy Hot Pot is known for its flavorful and non-fishy duck blood and its spicy yet not overly salty broth. When Taiwanese actor Chen Bolin and Korean actress Song Ji-hyo filmed the Chinese reality show “We Are In Love” in Taiwan, Chen — as the local host — invited Song to dine here, using Taiwanese-style spicy hot pot to create some memorable cross-border camaraderie.
