Huoqiu Yuanjue Temple

Huoqiu Yuanjue Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Huoqiu Yuanjue Temple is located atop Lingshan Mountain in Lingshui Town, about 40 kilometers northwest of Huoqiu County. It was a branch temple of Fengyang's Dalongxing Temple. In the 25th year of the Hongwu reign during the Ming Dynasty (1393), it was ordered to be renovated. Legend has it that the Ming Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang worked as a monk here in his childhood. The temple originally had 97 rooms but was burned down in the late Ming Dynasty. It was later rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty. Currently, only 11 rooms remain, now serving as the site of the Lingshui Grain Station, covering an area of 3.15 mu. There is also an ancient ginkgo tree in the courtyard. It was designated as a county-level key cultural relics protection unit in August 1985.
