Tianshuijian Drifting Scenic Area

Tianshuijian Drifting Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Tianshuijian is situated along the Yanci Temple line in Mashicun and Qianfancun of Tianzhuangzhen, Tianzhuang Scenic Area, stretching 6,470 meters in total. The starting point is 2.8 kilometers from the exit of the Hefei-Wuhan Expressway to the Tianzhuang Scenic Area, and the endpoint lies 300 meters from the main gate of the Tianzhuang Scenic Area, the Dabie Mountain Geopark Museum, and the former advance headquarters of the Liu-Deng Army as they entered the Dabie Mountains. Its river channel is an exceptionally rare geological relic. The Dabie Mountain collisional orogenic belt is one of the world’s most renowned ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic zones, making this geological site of global significance. It has now become one of the world’s most famous orogenic belts and a popular destination in the international geological tourism circuit. The structure of the river channel, with water seemingly descending from the heavens and meandering like a dragon drinking from the gorge, inspired its name—Tianshuijian, or "Heavenly Water Gorge."

The gorge boasts unique landform features, including the endearing Turtle Stone, the vivid Mouse Mound, the dutiful Cat Ear Stone, the lifelike Bell and Drum Stones, as well as Dragon Gate Pool, Rooster Beach, Pig Head Ridge, and many other breathtaking sights. The upper station sits at an elevation of 581 meters, while the lower station is at 463 meters, with a drop of 118 meters.

The Tianshuijian drifting section features a variety of magical landscapes shaped by its unique geological structures. In spring, there's the intoxicating greenery and fragrant blossoms; in summer, the refreshing shade and cool nights; in autumn, the tempting fruits and expansive skies; and in winter, the serene white purity and blooming plum blossoms.
