The former site of the Chishi Post Office in Chicheng County is located in Tangjia Hui Town, Jinzhai County.

In 1930, the Shangcheng County Red Post Office was established at the Xu Family Ancestral Hall in the middle section of the Old Street of today’s Tangjia Hui Town, Jinzhai County (currently preserved as six small blue-brick and tile-roofed houses, late Qing Dynasty architecture), and was renamed the “Chishi County Red Post Office” in early 1932. The Red Post Office had seven branch post offices under it and was one of the earliest postal institutions established in the revolutionary base area. It was equipped with postmarks, official seals, mail sacks, etc., and mainly handled the delivery of documents and letters within the Soviet area. After the failure of the Red Army’s fourth counter-“encirclement and suppression” campaign, in October 1932, the main force of the Fourth Red Army withdrew westward, and the personnel of the Red Post Office evacuated with the main troops, leading to the closure of the Red Post Office in the base area.
