The former site of the Red Army’s plainclothes squad is located in Chengci Group, Wawuji Village, Tangjiahui Town. It dates to the modern era and is categorized as an important modern historical site and representative building.

On June 21, 2019, the former site of the Red Army’s plainclothes squad was listed as part of the eighth batch of cultural heritage protection units in Jinzhai County.

Protected Area: Extends 5 meters south of the site and its wall foundation, and 3 meters east, west, and north.

Construction Control Zone: Extends 80 meters east, south, west, and north beyond the protected area.

Wawuji Village: Wawuji Village is situated in the northwest corner of Tangjiahui Town, at the border between Anhui and Henan provinces, within the mountainous terrain of the 1,500-meter-high Jingangtai and Foshan Temple ranges. The current Wawuji Village was formed in April 2008 through the merger of four former villages — Waji, Shangtang, Zhanshan, and Foshan — encompassing 49 villager groups, making it the most populous village in the town and even across the county. The merged village now consists of 27 residential groups, with 1,579 households and a population of 6,323. The total mountainous land area spans 31,678 mu, and the cultivated land area covers 2,758 mu.
