The former site of the wounded soldiers’ camp of the Liu-Deng Army is a cultural heritage protection unit of Jinzhai County and a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the wounded soldiers’ camp of the Liu-Deng Army is located in Yenxi Bay, Wawuji Village, Tangjiahui Town. It dates back to the modern era and is categorized as an important modern historical site and representative structure.

On June 21, 2019, the former site of the wounded soldiers’ camp of the Liu-Deng Army was designated as part of the eighth batch of cultural heritage protection units in Jinzhai County.

Protected Area: Three meters to the south and north, and one meter to the east and west beyond the heritage site and its wall foundations.

Construction Control Zone: Fifty meters beyond the protected area in all four cardinal directions—east, south, west, and north.

Wawuji Village: Wawuji Village is situated in the northwest corner of Tangjiahui Town, at the border between Anhui and Henan provinces, within the high-altitude mountain ranges of the 1,500-meter-plus Jingangtai and Foshan Temple regions. The current Wawuji Village was formed in April 2008 through the consolidation of four former villages—Waji, Shangtang, Zhanshan, and Foshan—along with their 49 village groups, making it the most populous village in the town and even one of the most populous in the county. The consolidated village now has a total of 27 residential groups, 1,579 households, and 6,323 residents, covering a total mountainous area of 31,678 mu and arable land of 2,758 mu.
