Hongqiao District Martyrs' Cemetery

Hongqiao District Martyrs' Cemetery is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism site.

Introduction Located at No. 5 Lingyuan Road, Xiqing Avenue, Hongqiao District. Originally named the "Beixinzhuang Martyrs' Cemetery of Tianjin County." Established on March 15, 1949, and rebuilt on October 1, 1958. It covers an area of 3.33 hectares. The cemetery is the final resting place for 500 officers and soldiers below the battalion level of the 39th Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army who sacrificed their lives in the Battle of Tianjin. The site includes one memorial monument, one martyrs' tomb with gravestone, one decorative monument, and three exhibition rooms. The front of the memorial monument bears the inscription: "Monument to the Heroes of the 39th Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army in the War of Liberation, Erected on March 15, 1949," while the back reads: "Immortal," "Rebuilt on October 1, 1958." The inscriptions on the monument were written by Li Gengtao, the former mayor of Tianjin.
