Yaowa Fort is situated at No. 118 on the north side of Dongma Road, Beiyingmen, Hongqiao District. In the 12th year of the Chongzhen reign of the Ming Dynasty (1639), seven forts were constructed on allocated civilian land outside the old city of Tianjin, and Yaowa Fort was one of them. On August 25, 1997, it was approved by the People's Government of Hongqiao District as a district-level protected cultural relic site.

Yaowa Fort guarded the southern bank of the Ziya River, playing a significant role in protecting water transport and defending against external invasions. It is a square earthen platform about 2 meters high, with each side of the base approximately 16 meters long, covering an area of around 260 square meters, and is encased in cement and sand on all sides.
