Ancestral Hall of the Qi Liu Branch of the He Clan

The Ancestral Hall of the Qi Liu Branch of the He Clan is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

The Ancestral Hall of the Qi Liu Branch of the He Clan is located in Dongshan Village, Lengting Town, Susong County, Anqing City.

Facing south, it has a width of 31 meters and a total depth of 41 meters. The ancestral hall was originally built in the seventh year of the Hongwu reign during the Ming Dynasty (1375) and expanded in the 23rd year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1758).

It features a structure that appears as three bays but actually consists of five, with the main hall having three sections and three bays, and 12 wing rooms on each side. The wing rooms are interconnected by courtyards and corridors. The total construction area is 1,271 square meters. The roof of the ancestral hall is a hanging gable roof covered with small blue tiles, and the interior gable walls are supported by a post-and-lintel framework. The main hall uses a four-pillar raised-beam structure with five roof trusses. The tops of the pillars feature bracket sets such as inserted arches and short-armed arches. The central and side bays are connected at the top of the columns with tie beams to integrate the entire roof framework. The column bases are octagonal bluestone Sumeru pedestals, each adorned with shallow relief carvings of floral patterns. The floor is paved with hemp-sand flagstones and stone slabs. The first, second, and third sections of the hall are built progressively higher by half a meter each. It is a representative large-scale ancestral hall of the Huizhou architectural style from the Ming and Qing periods, constructed with brick and wood.

Protected area: 50 meters outward from the perimeter of the cultural relic itself.
