Tomb of Zhu Shu

The Tomb of Zhu Shu is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

The Tomb of Zhu Shu is located in Lihuawu, Pengtian Group, Dilu Village, Xuling Town, Susong County.

It stands 3 meters tall and is constructed from semi-circular stone slabs, built in a spiral tower-column pattern of seven tiers, topped with a conical stone roof. In front of the tomb stands a gravestone, flanked on both sides by four double-stone slab walls. The front area features a spacious ceremonial platform for worship, enclosed by one-meter-high earthen walls on three sides. The tomb complex covers an area of nearly 100 acres. Zhu Shu was a renowned scholar and classical literature master in the early Qing Dynasty, celebrated as one of the “Three Talents of the Early Qing” alongside Fang Bao and Dai Mingshi. He had a significant influence on the formation of the Tongcheng School of Classical Prose and is recognized as the foremost advocate of Wanjiang culture.

Protected area: A perimeter of 5 meters extending outward from the boundary of the cultural relic.

Construction control zone: An additional 100 meters beyond the protected area on all sides.

Dilu Village: Located at the western gateway of Xuling Town, Dilu Village borders the shores of Daguan Lake to the south and is traversed by Taixia Highway, offering convenient land and water transportation. Established in 2004 through the merger of the former Dilu and Pengtian villages, it administers 21 villager groups, with 853 households, a population of 3,573, and 2,984 laborers. Over 2,000 people work outside the village annually on average. The village covers a state-owned land area of 9.6 square kilometers, including 3,273 mu of arable land and 2,250 mu of mountainous terrain. The main sources of economic income for villagers are migrant work and agricultural production.
