Introduction:

Shangxi Village is situated in Pimen Township in the northern part of Chun’an County, approximately 25 kilometers from Qiandao Lake Scenic Area. Traveling west via the Hang-Hui Expressway leads to Huangshan, 150 kilometers away, while going south along Provincial Highway 05 reaches Hangzhou, 160 kilometers away.

The area is rich in tourism resources. Within a 1.5-kilometer stretch of green valleys centered on the village, there are 12 differently styled, uniquely shaped, and closely connected waterfalls. The collision of waterfall waters generates a high concentration of beneficial negative ions—over 2,000 per cubic centimeter, ten times higher than in typical scenic areas—making it an ideal destination for leisure, vacation, and recuperation. In front of the village lies a 700-meter-long stone dragon that separates Shangxi Village from the outside world like a hidden paradise. The village also retains a strong legacy of ancient fortress architecture, featuring numerous terraced fields and slogans from the Cultural Revolution era.

The site is currently under development and is expected to open to the public by May Day next year. According to the plan, the attraction will center around a vast waterfall cluster, the majestic Stone Dragon Back, and a Jiangnan-style fortress village, all supported by a pristine ecological environment. It will primarily offer eco-tourism experiences, supplemented by adventure exploration, folk culture, and leisure vacation activities. Currently, it welcomes explorers, independent travelers, and backpackers.

Transportation Information:

Option 1: Depart from Qiandao Lake Town, take the Shangjiangbu Ferry, and follow the lakeside highway to the scenic area.

Option 2: Travel from National Highway 320 via Xin’anjiang Town to Maozhu Yuan Wharf, then follow the lakeside highway to the scenic area.

Pimen Township: Located in the northwest of Chun’an County, Pimen Township is 29 kilometers from the county seat. It borders Linqi Town to the east, neighbors Guangchang and Zuokou Townships to the south, connects to Yaoshan Township and Lin’an City to the north, and links to Wangfu and Yanzhen Townships to the west.

[Administrative History] During the Republican era, it belonged to Pimen Township. In 1959, it was part of Linqi Commune, and in 1961, Pimen Commune was established. In 1969, Qikeng and Qiuyuan Communes were merged into it but split again in 1971. In 1984, it was restructured as Pimen Township. In 1992, Qikeng and Qiuyuan Townships were incorporated.
