Situated in the southeast lake area of Qiandao Lake, this island is said to be the setting of the tale “Three Monks Have No Water to Drink.” It is the only islet paradise on the golden tourist route of western Zhejiang, drawing many pilgrims and bustling with incense offerings. Attractions on the island include mysterious stone stairways, a poetry pavilion, cliffside rolling bells, a Buddha’s Hand formation, the Mahavira Hall, a liberation pond, and the meditation tombs of the Three Monks.
