The Huangshanjian scenic area is located within the Pearl Islands of Qiandao Lake’s southeast lake region, approximately 8 kilometers from Qiandao Lake Town and adjacent to the Xianshan Tourist Resort. With its main peak standing at an elevation of 266 meters, it is the highest island among the Pearl Islands.

The Huangshanjian scenic area is a new highlight developed by Qiandao Lake in 2005. Facilities including the dock management area, tourist service center, mid-mountain viewing platform, and mountaintop viewing platform have been completed. Additionally, a 300-meter-long box-type pulse sightseeing cable car has been built and opened to the public.

From the summit of Huangshanjian, looking northwest, over ninety islands come into view, scattered across the lake surface like strings of pearls.

Gazing southeast, a deep valley stretches between Huangshanjian and Xianshan Island.

Looking southwest, the vast expanse of the lake unfolds before you, with Maoshan Island shrouded in mist... The diverse shapes of the islands and the winding, mysterious bays together form breathtaking natural landscapes.

Admission & Opening Hours

Admission to the island is included in the general Qiandao Lake scenic area ticket and does not require a separate purchase.

The peak season runs from March 1 to November 30, with a ticket price of 120 RMB; the off-season is from December 1 to the end of February the following year, with a ticket price of 100 RMB.

Transportation

Located 8 kilometers from Qiandao Lake Town, visitors coming from the Jiande direction can take a tourist boat or yacht from Maozhu Yuan Dock to reach the lake, while those from Qiandao Lake Town can depart from the Xiyuan Tourist Dock by boat or yacht.

Covering an area of 284 square kilometers with a total population of 62,000, it administers 34 administrative villages and 8 communities. It lies 150 kilometers east of Hangzhou and 160 kilometers west of Huangshan. Provincial highways 05 and 06 lead directly to the county town, and the ongoing construction of the Hangzhou–Qiandao Lake Expressway further enhances its transportation advantages. With the further advancement of its four-brand strategy, Qiandao Lake Town has gradually become a paradise for leisure and vacation, a haven for wellness living, a hub for China’s water industry, and a renowned Jiangnan water town.
