Mishan Chan Temple is located on Mishan Island in the Southeast Lake Area, 15 kilometers from Qiandao Lake Town. It is the only sacred island in the lake along the western Zhejiang tourism route, attracting throngs of worshippers and boasting flourishing incense offerings.

It is said that the story of “Three Monks, No Water to Drink” took place here, making it the only sacred island garden on the golden western Zhejiang tourism route. The island features mysterious stone steps, the Poetry-Chanting Pavilion, cliff-carved rolling bell, the Buddha’s Hand, the Mahavira Hall, the Liberation Pond, and the meditation tombs of the Three Monks. Admission to the island is included in the general Qiandao Lake scenic area ticket and no separate ticket is required.

Peak season runs from March 1 to November 30, with a ticket price of 120 RMB; off-peak season is from December 1 to the end of February the following year, with a ticket price of 100 RMB.

Transportation

The attraction can be reached via Muzhuyuan Tourist Wharf, Qiandao Lake Xiyuan Tourist Wharf, or the tunnel entrance at Jinzhupai.
