The iconic attractions of Baiyunyuan include the Big and Small Dragon Gates, Mandarin Duck Pool, and Green Dragon Gorge. There are small wooden cabins in the forest where visitors can stay, and hundreds of acres of alpine meadows at the mountain summit. Due to its stunning scenery and abundant water sources, yet with few tourists, it has gradually gained popularity among outdoor enthusiasts in recent years.

The main peak of Baiyunyuan, Guanyinjian, stands at an elevation of 1,246.5 meters and is the highest peak on the Fuchun River. From the top of Guanyinjian, you can see gently undulating alpine grasslands stretching out beneath your feet.

The currently referred Baiyunyuan Scenic Area only includes the developed first phase—the canyon landscape belt—while the entire Baiyunyuan region and its surrounding areas can be collectively termed the “Greater Baiyunyuan” zone. This area radiates outward from Guanyinjian, the core of Baiyunyuan, and may encompass most of the scenic spots in the Longmen Mountain Range, forming a tourism circle centered around Baiyunyuan.

Tip: Travel agencies only take you to the Big and Small Dragon Gates, leaving no time to visit the Mandarin Duck Pool and Green Dragon Gorge, so it’s best to go on your own.
