Tonglu County's Ezhan She Ethnic Township is located in the central part of Tonglu County on the outskirts of Hangzhou, approximately 9.5 kilometers from the county seat. The township covers an area of 28.73 square kilometers and is the gathering place of the She ethnic group in Hangzhou. Here, vast bamboo forests wave in emerald waves, misty and dreamlike like an ink-wash painting. What captivates visitors most is the vibrant and colorful She ethnic culture.

Tonglu Ezhan She Ethnic Township is the only ethnic minority township in Hangzhou. The Hangzhou She Ethnic Mountain Village is situated in Tiějīnshí Village and Pánlóng Village within Ezhan She Ethnic Township, Tonglu County, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. These two small mountain villages not only boast breathtaking natural scenery and cultural attractions but also offer enchanting and diverse ethnic charm.

Since the establishment of Ezhan She Ethnic Township in 1988, some ancient She ethnic cultural elements have been well preserved, such as the She language, wedding customs, and beautiful, unique legends, all of which showcase a simple, peaceful, and culturally rich atmosphere. Folk martial arts performances by the Ezhan She people, such as the Great Chain Fist and Five-Step Fist, along with She mountain songs, leave visitors genuinely amazed. On the second floor of She homes, bamboo tables and chairs reflect the distinctive character of the bamboo-growing region. People can sit around cheerfully, enjoying rice steamed in a large iron pot that fills the air with fragrance, accompanied by several homestyle dishes—such as clear tofu, stir-fried dried bamboo shoots with meat, braised chicken with mushrooms, and stir-fried vegetarian bamboo shoots—all delicious and mouthwatering.

The historical and cultural heritage, as well as the rich ethnic culture of Ezhan She Ethnic Township, with its uniquely distinctive ethnic customs, provide valuable humanistic resources for the development of She Ethnic tourism. Its folk martial arts like the Chain Fist, traditional dance “She Ethnic Stick Bench,” and mountain song performances are deeply rooted in ethnic tradition.
