Yaoxi Grand Canyon

Yaoxi Grand Canyon, also known as Jiangnan Ecological Valley, is located in the northwestern part of Zhejiang Province in Tonglu County. It was the county seat during the Baoying era of the Tang Dynasty and lies in the hilly mountainous area bordering Chun’an County and Lin’an City, about 58 kilometers from the county town. It borders Fenshui Town to the east and north, Baijiang Town to the south, and faces Chun’an County and Lin’an City to the west. The old Fen Road runs through the area, serving as a transportation hub to Chun’an County and Lin’an City. The valley features high mountains, deep valleys, continuous peaks, vast canyons, cascading waterfalls, and well-preserved vegetation. A 16-kilometer-long canyon, varying in width from 50 to 80 meters, winds all the way from Gaoliangting, making it a rare canyon in Jiangnan tourism. However, when visitors hike up to the canyon and look around, they will see uniquely-shaped pines hanging from the cliffs on both sides, along with gushing waterfalls, creating an awe-inspiring sight. Looking down into the canyon, the stream is crystal clear with cheerful little fish swimming. The wonders crafted by nature are truly breathtaking everywhere.

Yaoxi Grand Canyon Rafting (also known as Daxi Rafting) The Daxi Scenic Area was established on December 4, 2009. The scenic projects are divided into two phases. The first phase is a white-water rafting attraction on the main stream of Yaoxi, scheduled to begin trial operations on May 1, 2011. The second phase is an exciting surfing experience on the tributary Daxi.
