The Tonglu Jiangnan Ancient Villages Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Tonglu Jiangnan Ancient Villages Scenic Area covers a total area of 30.2 square kilometers and includes five villages: Shen’ao, Xufan, Huanxi, Dipo, and Qingyuan. It boasts profound historical heritage, rich folk customs, unique water system resources, a vast complex of ancient architecture, and deep clan culture. It is a comprehensive site of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, as well as a provincial-level historical and cultural reserve, a provincial intangible cultural heritage tourism site (folk culture tourism village), a China Historical and Cultural Famous Village, a national model area for beautiful countryside, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, and an international leisure rural demonstration site. The development of distinctive leisure attractions such as Cowshed Café, Pigsty Tea Bar, and the agricultural sightseeing and leisure project Dipo Flower Sea has continuously enhanced the reputation and popularity of the “Qanats of Jiangnan, the Most Enchanting Cluster of Ancient Villages.” The Jiangnan Ancient Villages have become a comprehensive rural leisure tourism destination integrating pastoral scenery, historical culture, intangible heritage, and fashionable leisure, attracting a continuous stream of visitors from all over.
