Chengtanggang Site

The Chengtanggang Site is a Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Chengtanggang Site is located on the summit of Chengtanggang, Chengxia Village, Zhongshan Township, Tonglu County, at an elevation of 253.5 meters. The site is mainly distributed in the central-southern part of the summit, stretching approximately 120 meters from north to south and about 30–45 meters from east to west, covering a current area of around 4,500 square meters. This site is the first Qianshanyang Culture site discovered and test-excavated in Tonglu County, dating back 4,400–4,200 years.

From June to December 2016, the Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and the Tonglu Museum jointly conducted a comprehensive survey, investigation, and trial excavation of the site. A total of 780 square meters were uncovered, including 92.5 square meters of actual excavation, revealing 11 ash pits (five of which were excavated through stratigraphic analysis), three post pits, four postholes, and more than 400 cultural relics such as pottery and stone tools.
