Dongyishang Village Revolutionary Memorial Hall

The Dongyishang Village Revolutionary Memorial Hall is a classic red tourism attraction.

As early as 1927, the Communist Party of China (CPC) Xincheng Branch was established in Dongyishang Village (now Xincheng Shangcun), and in 1928 it came under the CPC East District Committee. In June 1929, the East District Party organization was divided into the East First and East Second District Committees, with the Xincheng Party organization coming under the leadership of the East First District Committee. Starting from December 1940, the East First and East Second District Committees were merged again into the East District Committee, and the Xincheng Party organization returned to the leadership of the East District Committee until the liberation of Rui’an in May 1949. During the Great Revolution and the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the Xincheng Party organization led the establishment of peasant associations across the region, carried out struggles for rent and interest reduction, and fought against famine. During the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War, the Xincheng Party organization made significant contributions to party work, communication and liaison, and supporting the county guard unit in liberating the county seat.

The Dongyishang Village Revolutionary Memorial Hall is located in Xincheng Shangcun, Rui’an City, just 4 kilometers from downtown Rui’an. The museum began preparations in 2002 and was completed in 2005. It covers an area of 1,500 square meters, with a construction area of 800 square meters. The main building is a three-story structure, where the first and second floors display the revolutionary struggle history of East District, Rui’an, and the third floor serves as the reception area of the memorial hall.

The Dongyishang Village Revolutionary Memorial Hall is a patriotic education base in Rui’an City.
