The Site of the Meeting between the Advancing Column and the Red Army Guerrillas in Southern Zhejiang is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

The natural village of Getenghu in the western mountainous area of Rui’an, adjacent to Longwei in Pingyang County, served as one of the regular bases for leaders of the southern Zhejiang Party organization such as Ye Tingpeng and their armed forces during the later period of the Agrarian Revolutionary War and the Anti-Japanese War. Surrounded by high mountains and dense forests in a remote location on the border between Rui’an and Pingyang counties, it was an ideal area for guerrilla activities. In late July 1937, the main force of the Red Army Advancing Column arrived in western Rui’an (now the area around Danan in Wencheng County) from Qingyuan County. Upon learning of this, the Interim Revolutionary Committee of Southern Zhejiang sent Huang Xianhe, a member in charge of peasant movement, to Gongyang (now part of Wencheng County) to meet with the column commander Su Yu. He then followed the Advancing Column to the mountainous areas of Taishun and Fuding, where he met with Liu Ying, secretary of the Interim Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China for the Fujian–Zhejiang Border Region. In September of the same year, Chen Tiejun, military commissioner of the Interim Revolutionary Committee of Southern Zhejiang and leader of the guerrilla team, led his forces to Getenghu, where they joined up with the Red Army Advancing Column under Su Yu. On that day, the two forces moved to Baomu in Pingyang. Ye Tingpeng, Zheng Haixiao, and others went to Baomu to meet with Su Yu and voluntarily proposed to accept the leadership of the Interim Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China for the Fujian–Zhejiang Border Region. The meeting between the Advancing Column and the Interim Revolutionary Committee of Southern Zhejiang and its armed forces expanded the base area established by the Advancing Column in southern Zhejiang to include the northern part of Pingyang’s Beigang region and the area south of the Feiyun River along the Rui-Ping border, laying the foundation for the establishment of a revolutionary base centered on Beigang in Pingyang. The Advancing Column also restored contact with the Party Central Committee through the relationship between the Interim Revolutionary Committee of Southern Zhejiang and the Party Central Committee’s office in Shanghai.

The Site of the Meeting between the Advancing Column and the Red Army Guerrillas in Southern Zhejiang is located in the natural village of Getenghu, Yong’an Village, Longhu Town, Rui’an City. It lies within the Yunu Valley scenic area of the Zhailaoxi Scenic Area in Rui’an City, 15 kilometers from the seat of Longhu Town government and 50 kilometers from downtown Rui’an. Getenghu is now home to a dozen or so households, some of whom still preserve the homemade guns and cannons used by the guerrillas at that time.
