Exhibition Room of Revolutionary Struggle History in Xianjiang

The Exhibition Room of Revolutionary Struggle History in Xianjiang is a classic red tourism attraction.

In the spring of 1927, the CPC Xianjiang Branch was established in the Xianjiang area, and the Farmers' Association of the Southern District was set up in the same year. In April 1928, the CPC Southern District Committee was founded, leading the Farmers' Association in the struggle to reduce rents and interest. In June of the same year, the armed forces of Xianjiang farmers participated in the joint armed uprising of peasants from Yongjia, Rui’an, and Pingyang counties (historically known as the “First Armed Uprising of Xianjiang Farmers”). In 1929, the Red Guards of the Southern District Farmers were formed, and the following year they were renamed the Guerrilla Unit of the Southern District. In May 1930, the Guerrilla Unit of the Southern District cooperated with the 13th Red Army in attacking Pingyang County. In July of the same year, the Second Armed Uprising of Xianjiang Farmers was launched. From the early 1930s to the beginning of the War of Resistance Against Japan, areas such as Zhang’ao and Xin’an in Xianjiang served as activity bases for the Provisional Provincial Committee of the Communist Party on the Fujian-Zhejiang Border and the CPC Rui’an County Committee. During the Liberation War period, Xianjiang, as a frontline position of the Party’s struggle, made significant contributions in transporting supplies for the CPC Zhejiang South Special Committee, county Party committee organs, and troops.

The Exhibition Room of Revolutionary Struggle History in Xianjiang is located in the ancestral hall of the Sun family in Hengjie Village, Xianjiang Town, Rui’an City, approximately 10 kilometers from downtown Rui’an. In 1998, to commemorate the revolutionary struggle history of the Xianjiang area and provide revolutionary traditional education for young students, the Xianjiang Town Committee and Town Government exhibited historical photos and materials about the revolutionary struggles in the Xianjiang area in the newly renovated ancestral hall of the Sun family (where the preparatory meeting of the Farmers' Association of the Southern District in 1927 was held). The Sun family ancestral hall was built during the Ming Dynasty, covering a total area of about 500 square meters, with a construction area of about 300 square meters.

The Exhibition Room of Revolutionary Struggle History in Xianjiang is a cultural relics protection unit of Rui’an City.
