Former Site of the Second Expanded Meeting of the Yongjia County Committee

The Former Site of the Second Expanded Meeting of the Yongjia County Committee is a cultural relic protection unit of Rui’an City and a classic red tourism destination.

From January 30 to February 1, 1930, after inspecting Wenzhou and Taizhou, Jin Guanzhen, an inspector from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, presided over the Second Expanded Meeting of the Yongjia County Committee at the home of Xie Jingchang, a CPC member in Zhaoping??, eastern Rui’an. A total of 53 delegates from Yongjia, Rui’an, Pingyang, Qingtian, Yueqing, Yuhuan, and Taishun counties attended the meeting. The meeting conveyed the spirit of the Second Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the CPC, and discussed the rectification and development of the Party organization. It was decided that the western part of Nanxi in Yongjia, the western area of Rui’an (now part of Wencheng), and the southern part of Pingyang would serve as key regions for guerrilla warfare. It was also resolved that Wang Guozhen, Li Zhensheng, and Lei Gaosheng would be responsible for forming a Red Army unit in the western Nanxi area of Yongjia and the southern part of Pingyang. After the meeting, Jin Guanzhen organized a three-day training session for county and district leaders at Xie Jingchang’s home.

The Former Site of the Second Expanded Meeting of the Yongjia County Committee is located in Zhongcun Village, Zhaoping??, Tangxia Town, Rui’an City, about 10 kilometers from downtown Rui’an and close to National Highway 104, offering convenient transportation. The site covers an area of 400 square meters, with a building area of 250 square meters. The original owner of the site, Xie Jingchang, was an early CPC member in eastern Rui’an and served as a courier for the eastern region during the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the Anti-Japanese War, and the Liberation War.
