Former Residence of Yu Tingkai

The former residence of Yu Tingkai is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.

The former residence of Yu Tingkai is located in Mayu Town, Rui'an City, dating back to the Qing Dynasty and the Republican era.

The Yu Tingkai Memorial Hall is located in Jiangshang Village, Mayu Town, Rui'an City. In 2016, Yu Wenji, the grandson of Mr. Yu Tingkai, and others initiated the construction of the memorial hall. After a year of work, it was completed in the spring of 2017. The Yu Tingkai Memorial Hall is a late Qing-style courtyard building with three courtyards and two stories, featuring five exhibition halls. The first and second courtyards display calligraphy and inscriptions from national leaders, experts, scholars, and various political figures from the Republican era, as well as poems and literary works by the ancestors of the Yu family and Mr. Yu Tingkai himself. The third courtyard serves as an exhibition room for Mr. Yu Tingkai’s life achievements. Combining historical relics, photographs, paintings, and carvings, modern technology is used to showcase the extraordinary life of Mr. Yu Tingkai.

The memorial hall covers an area of 2.27 mu, with an actual usable area of 5.5 mu and a construction area of approximately 1,088 square meters. The exhibition space spans about 880 square meters. It embodies both a classic, solemn ambiance and contemporary architectural elements. It serves as a site for paying tribute to and commemorating esteemed figures, as well as a place for visiting, learning, and conducting patriotic education. The site adds a beautiful and highly cultural attraction to the local area.

The memorial hall currently receives around 300 to 500 visitors daily, with numbers increasing during holidays.

On January 13, 2017, the People's Government of Zhejiang Province designated it as part of the Seventh Batch of Cultural Relic Protection Units of Zhejiang Province.

Mayu Town: Mayu Town is located on the southern bank of the middle section of the lower reaches of the Feiyun River, 17 kilometers southwest of the city center. It is named after Mayu Mountain, which is formed by Turtle Mountain and Snake Mountain to the west of the town. is 40.9 square kilometers, with a population of 45,300. It administers 3 residential communities and 45 administrative villages, with the town government located on Shuangyu South Road.
