Former Residence of Huang Gongshi

The Former Residence of Huang Gongshi is a cultural heritage site protected by Rui'an City.

The Former Residence of Huang Gongshi is located at No. 134 Cangqian Street in downtown Rui'an City. Built during the Republican era, it faces east-west and north-south, consisting of two connected buildings at the front and back with side rooms, covering a total area of approximately 348 square meters.

The main eastern building has four pillars and three bays, with front and rear corridors, spanning 11.3 meters in width and 10.95 meters in depth. The columns are designed in a Western architectural style, with the central bay featuring Roman Corinthian-style round columns and the side bays featuring Roman Ionic-style rectangular columns. The column surfaces are coated with a mixture of quartz and cement. The bases of the columns are made of bluestone with high-relief carvings of lions and dragons. The roof is a herringbone gable-and-purlin structure covered with small blue tiles.

The western building also has four pillars and three bays, spanning 11.2 meters in width and 10.45 meters in depth. The front corridor is single-pitched, imitating traditional architectural forms. The interior structure is largely similar to that of the eastern building. It has a four-sloped roof covered with small blue tiles.
