The Six Clans Lu Ancestral Hall

The Six Clans Lu Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected by Rui'an City.

The Lu Ancestral Hall is located in Liuke Village, Yong'an Township, Rui'an City, and was built in the ninth year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1670). It faces west and has two courtyards, front and back, covering an area of 370 square meters. The front section is the entrance hall, spanning five bays in width and two in depth, with a total width of 15.6 meters and a depth of 3.1 meters. The stone-paved terrace features threshold stones, and the roof is double-eaved and hanging gable-style. The central bay of the entrance hall features a plaque inscribed with “Six Clans Lu Ancestral Hall,” dating from the Kangxi era (1661–1722). The rear section is the main hall, spanning five bays in width and four in depth, with a total width of 15.6 meters and a depth of 7.8 meters. The central bay of the main hall has a raised-beam roof structure, while the side bays use a through-tenon style. The roof is hanging gable-style. Wing corridors extend on both sides, each one bay in depth.

In the courtyard there is a stage built in the eighth year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1743). It is square in shape, measuring 4.35 meters in both width and depth. It has four pillars and a hip-and-gable roof. The column capitals feature bracket sets with seven tiers and double downward extensions, and an octagonal, multi-layered caisson ceiling is installed.
