The Dongyuan Waterwheel Papermaking Workshop Complex is a Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Dongyuan Waterwheel Papermaking Workshop Complex is located in Fangzhuang Township, Rui'an City, dating from the Ming Dynasty to the People's Republic of China.

The Dongyuan Waterwheel Papermaking Workshop Complex is situated in Dongyuan Village, Fangzhuang Township. Thanks to the abundant water supply from the confluence of the Zhushan and Loushan streams running through the village, numerous waterwheel-powered papermaking workshops were historically concentrated here, especially during the Republican period when it was a prosperous papermaking village in the mountainous area. According to local oral tradition and the *Dongyuan Yin Clan Genealogy* (Dongyuan Village is also known as Dongyuan Village), the village was established in the early years of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty. The waterwheel papermaking workshops were first created during the Yongle era and have been in operation for approximately 600 years, with some still in active production today.

On January 13, 2017, the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government listed it as part of the seventh batch of Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units.
