The "Ancestral Hall of the Jiang Clan," located in Hongtangli Village, Baishe Township, Lanxi City, Zhejiang Province, consists of three sections: front, middle, and rear. The front section has a nine-bay gate tower, the central hall has five bays, the rear section has nine bays, and there are 26 side rooms on both sides, totaling an area of 1,758 m². Construction began in the early years of the Longqing era of the Ming Dynasty (1567) and was completed by the end of that era (1572). In the 18th year of the Shunzhi reign (1661), in the eighth month, the bedroom chamber was erected; in the tenth month, the main hall was built and materials from the previous hall were dismantled; in the eleventh month, the side halls were constructed; in the twelfth month, the gate tower was raised, and work ceased at the end of the year. The following year, due to exhausted resources, it was publicly agreed to temporarily halt construction. Three years later, stone slabs were prepared for steps, door sills, and stone drums; another three years passed to secure materials for doors, window lattices, and stair railings; yet another three years were needed to prepare for the shrine canopy, floorboards, and related fittings, but funds and materials were depleted. After fourteen years, the project was finally completed in the year of Jiayin, which was the 13th year of the Kangxi reign (1675). In the Xinyou year of the Xianfeng era (1861), when the Cantonese bandits disrupted the regions of Pujiang and Lanxi in Zhejiang, the ancestral land was lost, and the Jiang Clan Ancestral Hall was burned to the ground. In the Dingmao year of the Tongzhi era (1867), discussions led to the reconstruction of the gate tower, bedroom chamber, east and west halls, corridors, and side rooms — no small feat — and the overall structure was completed, forming the initial layout. However, the central hall was still missing. After consultations among the Jiang Clan elders, reconstruction of the Jingfu Hall (central hall) commenced in the spring of the Dingsi year of the Republic of China (1917) and was completed in the winter of the Jiwei year (1919). The Ancestral Hall of the Jiang Clan boasts a grand and imposing structure, exquisitely crafted with carved beams and painted rafters, delicate ornamentation, and vividly lifelike depictions of flowers, birds, plants, and insects, all embodying a strong traditional ethnic style — truly a masterpiece. On November 3, 2005, it was designated as a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Lanxi City, and on January 13, 2017, it was listed as a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Zhejiang Province.
