The QianDixiang Site is a protected cultural heritage site of Changshu City.

QianDixiang Site

Located in Maoqiao Village, Changfu Subdistrict, it is an elevated terrace about 2 meters above the ground, stretching 395 meters from north to south and 210 meters from east to west, covering a total area of approximately 80,000 square meters. From September to October 1988, a joint excavation by the Archaeology Department of Nanjing University and the Changshu Municipal Cultural Relics Management Committee uncovered 432 square meters, yielding over 200 artifacts primarily associated with the Songze culture. Additionally, ash pits, ash ditches, burials, and house remains were discovered. The site features rich cultural layers with a long chronological span, dating as early as the late Majiabang culture of the Neolithic Age and extending to the early Liangzhu culture. This site holds significant importance for studying the evolution and development of prehistoric cultures in the Taihu Lake region and occupies a relatively prominent position in southern Neolithic archaeology. It was designated as a protected cultural heritage site of Changshu City in August 1989.
