The aquatic flower base of Nanjing Yilian Garden was listed as a provincial key comprehensive agricultural development demonstration project in 2002. The project area, centered around a 500-acre core zone (including 200 acres for bowl lotus and water lily, and 300 acres for moisture-tolerant aquatic plants), has driven the vigorous development of hundreds of aquatic flower varieties such as Xinghuafen, Yixin, Red Sun, Purple Vajra, and Andeswiss.

The total investment in the Yilian Garden aquatic flower base project was 810,000 yuan. The project area includes 8 medium-ditch-level hydraulic structures, 1 pumping station, 0.72 kilometers of seepage-proof canals, 1.5 kilometers of protective walls, 2.1 kilometers of gravel roads, 0.76 kilometers of concrete roads, and is equipped with 7 sets of agricultural machinery.

Stepping into Jiangpu Yilian Garden, one is greeted by a vast ocean and world of flowers. Various bowl lotuses and water lilies bloom competitively, displaying a riot of colors; the greenhouses cultivate precious aquatic flowers introduced from Africa and other regions, thriving vigorously; the resource nursery showcases a rich variety of aquatic flowers in brilliant hues; the garden is crisscrossed with cement paths, extending in all directions. The entire park resembles a gracefully picturesque landscape, delighting the eye and enchanting visitors to linger.

Currently, the aquatic flowers grown in the garden enjoy high recognition and are sold online to destinations such as Japan, the United States, the Netherlands, Canada, and Southeast Asia. At the "17th and 18th National Lotus Exhibitions," the newly cultivated variety "Red Sun" won the first prize in the lotus new variety competition, while "Red Lips," "Commander," and "Golden Autumn" all received second prizes.
