Main Hall of the Xie Clan Ancestral Hall

The Xie Clan Ancestral Hall in Gecun is a family ancestral temple building originally constructed in the mid-Ming Dynasty. It serves as a site for the Xie family to worship their ancestors and esteemed figures. Located in Dinggang Town, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, it has been designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site by the city’s Cultural Relics Management Office and officially awarded the status. Gecun features 76 ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, including the Xie Clan Ancestral Hall, the Bangyan Gate, the Grand Mansion Gate, the former residence of Xie Chao dong, and the Drum Tower, totaling 11,300 square meters.

In March 2019, the main hall of the Xie Clan Ancestral Hall was included in the eighth batch of Jiangsu Provincial Cultural Heritage Sites.
