Wang Family Garden

The Wang Family Garden is a cultural heritage conservation unit of Jiangsu Province.

Originally named "Aiwu Cottage," the Wang Family Garden was built in the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930) and completed in the 22nd year (1933). It served as the residence of Wang Yaoyu, a prominent Shanghai financier. Covering a construction area of nearly 4,000 square meters, the garden consists of 11 sections and is said to include "99 and a half rooms." In 1949, after the uprising in Nanjing, some officers and soldiers from the Kuomintang's Second Fleet arrived at the Wang Family Garden and formed the Artillery Boat Brigade of the East China Navy of the People's Liberation Army. The Wang Family Garden then became the brigade headquarters.

In March 2019, the Wang Family Garden was included in the eighth batch of cultural heritage conservation units of Jiangsu Province.
