Shihu City Ruins

The Shihu City Ruins are a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangsu Province.

The Shihu City Ruins are located 1 kilometer southeast of Liuchuan Town in Xuzhou

They are an earthen site from the Han Dynasty, covering an area of 300 acres, with city walls on three sides and a mountain on the fourth. There is a moat to the northeast and a well to the southeast. In 1958, artifacts such as roof tiles, pottery shards, whetstones, clamshells, and bronze arrowheads were found at the site. To this day, the earthen walls on three sides can still be faintly seen.

On October 22, 2002, the Shihu City Ruins were designated as part of the fifth batch of cultural relic protection units of Jiangsu Province.

Liuchuan Town: Located on the eastern shore of Weishan Lake, Liuchuan Town is 20 kilometers from downtown Xuzhou. It borders Qingshanquan Town of Jiawang District, Xuzhou, to the east and faces Pei County across the lake to the west. The town covers an area of 105 square kilometers and has a population of 58,000.

Transportation: National Highway 104 and the Tianjin–Pukou Railway run through the area. There is one railway station, 15 bus stations, and 7 water transport docks.

Resources: The town lies on the foothills of the Shandong Hills, with higher terrain in the northwest and lower in the southeast. The average elevation is around 50 meters, and there are 163 hills of various sizes.
