Ancient Cultural Site on the Platform

The Ancient Cultural Site on the Platform is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Ancient Cultural Site on the Platform is located in Taishang Village, southwest of Sanbao Town, Tongshan. The site features a rectangular earthen mound, measuring 140 meters from east to west, 105 meters from north to south, and standing 2.5 meters high. A large number of relics such as animal bones, deer antlers, and stone tools have been discovered at the site over time, including a perforated stone axe — a polished stone tool from the early Neolithic period. According to unearthed artifacts, this is confirmed to be a cultural site from the Shang Dynasty. In 1953, the site was designated as a county-level cultural heritage protection unit, and the unearthed polished stone tools are now housed in the county cultural center.

Originally, there was an ancient temple on the Ancient Cultural Site on the Platform. When the temple was converted into a school after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, a stone stele dating back to the 15th year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1520) was found in the temple courtyard. The site is currently well preserved.
