Jiaoshan Lake Scenic Area

Jiaoshan Lake Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Xuzhou Jiaoshan Lake Scenic Area is located in the Tongshan New District of Xuzhou City and serves as an urban-style scenic zone integrating sightseeing, touring, leisure, and other comprehensive functions. Jiaoshan Lake was first constructed in 2010 as a key urban development project in Tongshan, with a total investment of 150 million yuan. This year, the Tongshan District plans to implement 21 ecological civilization projects, including the construction of the Jiaoshan Lake Business District. In mid-October last year, the district organized relevant personnel to conduct a performance evaluation of the Jiaoshan Lake Comprehensive Management Project, assessing four aspects: input indicators, effectiveness indicators, sustainable impact and development indicators, and social evaluation indicators. The social survey showed a resident satisfaction rate of 94%.

The predecessor of Jiaoshan Lake was the Jiaoshan Reservoir. The Jiaoshan area has relatively high terrain and abundant water sources. In 1967, a small reservoir was built here to aid in flood control, drainage, and farmland irrigation. The reservoir was quite small, covering only about five or six hectares.
