The Haoling Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

Situated at the junction of Ganyu, Donghai, and Linshu counties in Jiangsu and Shandong provinces, the Haoling Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area covers a planned area of 92 square kilometers, with 85 square kilometers of water area. Relying on the grand Shilianghe Reservoir and the winding Xinshu River, the scenic area organically combines tourism resources such as the historically profound Mount Mo, the legendary Mount Yu that carries the beautiful tale of Yu the Great taming the floods, and modern eco-agricultural tourism demonstration sites, to create a water conservancy tourism destination that highlights harmony between humans and water and promotes aquatic ecological civilization.

The scenic area features a perfect blend of mountains and waters, with breathtaking scenery. The shimmering Haoling Lake (Shilianghe Reservoir), the majestic dam, the spectacular spillway gates, hydroelectric power stations, irrigation sluice gates, and the water culture corridor, together with the peaceful Anlan Square and Qingyuan Square, the classic Chinese pavilions and waterside pavilions, and the charming landscape features, showcase the history of water conservancy development and the remarkable achievements of modern water management. Ascending Mount Yu, the highest peak in Donghai County, one can almost envision the scene of Yu the Great, who followed in his father’s footsteps, diverting the floodwaters by following the natural flow instead of blocking them, leading the flood into the sea. On Mount Mo, described as “its summit like an inverted bowl, with verdant haze rising gracefully, often piercing through the clouds,” there lies a 2.5-meter-high, 1.5-meter-wide alkali granite cliff stone inscribed with 71 characters—the “Mo Mountain Cliff Inscription”—which holds significant archaeological value.
