Qingdun Temple Ruins

The Qingdun Temple Ruins are a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Jiangsu Province.

Located in Qingdunmiao Village, Chengtou Town, Ganyu District, Lianyungang City. It is a large earthen mound about 3 meters high and covering an area of approximately 1,000 square meters. Excavated and cleared in 1960, the site unearthed relics including short-rim li tripod leg fragments, gray clay pottery shards, sandy pottery li tripod legs, as well as bronze arrowheads with double wings, bone awls, and bone needles. Beneath the upper layers, important evidence was discovered showing that the pits of the Yueshi culture cut through the Longshan culture layer, which provides crucial evidence for studying the origin, ethnic affiliation, and relationship with the Shang culture of the Yueshi culture. In 1989, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Ganyu County. In 2006, it was listed as part of the sixth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units in Jiangsu Province.

Protected Area:

East to Lida Highway, south to behind the residence of Wang Hongchang in Qingdunmiao Village; west to a tree-lined road 600 meters away; north to the southern bank of the Qingkou River.

Construction Control Zone:

East to 60 meters east of Lida Highway, south to 60 meters outside the protected area, west to about 75 meters outside the protected area, north to the northern bank of the Qinghekou River.

Chengtou Town: Following the 2013 administrative division adjustment, Menhe Town and Chengtou Town were abolished and merged into the new Chengtou Town. After the merger, the population will reach nearly 88,000, the town area will cover 117.5 square kilometers, and it will govern 43 village committees.
