Former Residence of Liu Shaoqi

Located in Dashu Village, Heilin Town, Ganyu District, Lianyungang City, this was Liu Shaoqi’s residence during the Anti-Japanese War. From June 17 to early July 1942, Liu Shaoqi (who was elected President of China in 1959), a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the East China Bureau, and Political Commissar of the New Fourth Army, stayed here for 25 days, guiding the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. Five thatched cottages where Comrade Liu Shaoqi lived still exist. Since 1942, the site has been well preserved and was restored in 2003.

In 2006, it was designated as part of the second batch of cultural relic protection units of Ganyu County. In 2010, it was listed in the fourth batch of cultural relic protection units of Lianyungang City.

To the east up to the west walls of the homes of Xiong Chuanming and Xiong Zhengbo, to the west up to the pine forest, to the south up to the north wall of the home of Xiong Fangjun, and to the north up to the south wall of the home of Xiong Fangzhu.
