The Site of Maozi An is a cultural heritage protection unit of Lianyungang City.

The Site of Maozi An

Located about 500 meters northwest of Sanqingge Village, Banzhuang Town, Ganyu District, Lianyungang City, it is a terrace that rises 3–4 meters above the riverbank, covering an area of approximately 6,400 square meters. Surface relics include fragments such as pottery leg of a li vessel and cord-marked pottery jars from the Western Zhou period. Cultural layers are also buried under the sand nearby. The site originally had a structure called “Sanqingge,” which no longer exists. The Site of Maozi An provides important physical evidence for the study of the history and culture of the Western Zhou period.

It was designated as one of the fourth batch of cultural heritage protection units of Lianyungang in 2010.

Protected Area:

South to Qingkang Road (6 meters), east to the irrigation canal (5 meters), and 50 meters each to the west and north.

Banzhuang Town: Following the 2013 administrative division adjustment, Huan Dun Town and Banzhuang Town were merged to form the new Banzhuang Town. After the merger, not only did the population double to nearly 100,000, but the land area also nearly doubled to 175.61 square kilometers. The new Banzhuang Town has become the largest town in Ganyu County in terms of area, governing 44 village committees.

Banzhuang Town is located in the western part of Ganyu County, Lianyungang City, at the junction of two provinces (Jiangsu and Shandong) and three counties (Ganyu, Donghai, and Linshu).
