Zhuangyuan Pavilion

Zhuangyuan Pavilion is a cultural tourism attraction.

Zhuangyuan Pavilion is the only building in China themed around promoting the culture of top imperial examination scholars. Located atop Huli Mountain, it boasts a majestic and magnificent exterior, covering a construction area of 350 square meters and standing 22 meters tall with 24 soaring roof corners. Stepping into the pavilion feels like entering a cultural corridor of Liyang’s history, where 1,300 years of cultural heritage are condensed.

The pavilion has three floors in total. The first floor records the story of the imperial scholar; the second floor showcases the achievements of contemporary experts from Liyang; and the third floor’s bookshelves display the rosters of Liyang natives who attended higher education institutions throughout history. From the top, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Tianmu Lake. Zhuangyuan Pavilion calls upon today’s students to scale the heights of science—truly, “the weight of the pavilion is the weight of knowledge.”
