Since ancient times when our ancestors first began brewing alcohol, wine has permeated nearly every aspect of social life throughout China’s millennia-long civilization. From imperial courts to marketplaces, the stories of wine and its drinkers have together formed the rich tapestry of Chinese wine culture. Possessing both material and spiritual dimensions, where there is wine, there are also more vivid and romantic stories.

The Liyang Tianmu Lake Wine Culture Museum officially opened on May 31, 2016, and is open to the public free of charge. The museum covers a construction area of 2,500 square meters, with an exhibition space of 1,200 square meters. The entire display is divided into four sections: the Preface Hall, the Soul of Wine in Ancient China, the Charm of Chinese Baijiu, and The Art of Wine Collection and Appreciation. Nearly ten thousand wine vessels, utensils, and types of liquor are exhibited. The museum is dedicated to the collection of famous wines and the research of wine culture. Its collection boasts an impressive array of renowned Chinese liquors and commemorative wines from famous distilleries, while the local Liyang-produced wines are particularly distinctive.

Currently, the Liyang Tianmu Lake Wine Culture Museum is recognized as a Changzhou Science Education Base, a council member of the Changzhou Museums Association, the vice president unit of the Jiangsu Private Museums Association, and a group member of the Chinese Museums Association.
