Rear Lane Xizhai on Middle Street, Jiaoxi, is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Changzhou.

Rear Lane Xizhai on Middle Street, Jiaoxi, located at No. 11, Rear Lane, Middle Street, Jiaoxi Village, Zhenglu Town, Tianning District, was built during the Qing Dynasty. Facing south and spanning three courtyards with five bays in width, this brick-and-timber structure with a flush-gable roof served as the former residence of Xi Kangmin, former Director of the Department of Agriculture of Liaoning Province. The first and second courtyards consist of single-story buildings, while the third features a two-story house. The first courtyard has a gate tower adorned with carved brick characters that are difficult to decipher. The second floor of the third courtyard includes an ornate wooden balcony featuring finely crafted carvings.

Zhenglu Town: Zhenglu Town has a long history. The Sidun Site in Sanhuangmiao Village, located in the southern part of the town, has yielded a large number of cultural relics through multiple excavations, confirming that over 5,000 years ago, our ancestors lived and thrived here, creating an advanced phase of the Liangzhu culture and forming the early prototype of a “state.”

Zhenglu Town enjoys a prime geographical location and convenient transportation. The Chang-Jiao Highway and the Outer Ring Road of Changzhou pass through the town; the Beitang River connects to the Grand Canal in the south and the Yangtze River in the north.
