Sanxitang

Sanxitang

Sanxitang is a cultural relic protection unit of Changzhou City.

Sanxitang is located in the middle section of Qingguo Lane Historical and Cultural Block in Tianning District. Wang Zanlun, a late Qing Dynasty imperial scholar, once resided here for a long time. "Sanxitang" is the family name hall of the Wang family. Originally, it faced south and had five courtyards. During the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era (1573–1619), the ancestor of the Wang family, Wang Kanghou, migrated from Shangxikou in Xiuning County, Huizhou Prefecture, to Changzhou Prefecture. After three generations, it was Wang Jikan who, during the Qing Dynasty's Kangxi era (1662–1722), moved to reside in "Sanxitang" on Qingguo Lane, and after another seven generations, it was Wang Zanlun.

On March 25, 2018, the Changzhou Municipal People's Government announced Sanxitang as part of the seventh batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Changzhou.
