Wulu Bridge

Wulu Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Changzhou City.

Wulu Bridge is located on the northern side of Longjin Road in Zhenglu Town, Tianning District, spanning the Dingtang River. It is a Qing Dynasty structure, oriented east-west across the Dingtang River, and is a single-arch granite bridge. Originally named “Xianming Bridge.” In the past there was a small town south of the bridge called “Niaolu,” and merchants traveling to Niaolu Town would invariably pass over this bridge, hence the name “Wulu Bridge.” This bridge is one of the better-preserved single-arch stone bridges in the urban area of Changzhou.

On March 25, 2018, the People's Government of Changzhou Municipality announced Wulu Bridge as part of the seventh batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Changzhou.

Zhenglu Town: Zhenglu Town has a long history. The Sidian Site, located in Sanhuangmiao Village in the southern part of the town, has yielded a large number of artifacts through multiple excavations, confirming that our ancestors lived and thrived here over 5,000 years ago, creating an advanced stage of the Liangzhu culture and forming the embryonic form of a “state.”

Zhenglu Town enjoys a superior geographical location and convenient transportation. The Changjiao Highway and the Changzhou Outer Ring Road run through the town; the Beitang River connects to the Grand Canal to the south and to the Yangtze River to the north; the town area is only 4 kilometers from the Hengshan interchange of the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, 30 kilometers from Changzhou Civil Aviation Airport, with the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway to the south and the Changzhou Port on the Yangtze River to the north...
