Yuantuo Cape Scenic Area

This is the place in Jiangsu where the sun rises earliest. Standing at Yuantuo Cape, you can see the mighty Yangtze River flowing into the sea here, where the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea meet, creating a spectacular convergence of three waters. Coupled with the unique natural phenomenon of watching the sunrise at dawn, many literati and artists have taken great pleasure in witnessing the sunrise at Yuantuo Cape.

2. Yuantuo Cape is surrounded by the sea on three sides, with vast coastal tidal flats. During spring, summer, and autumn, visitors can take a sightseeing ride on a ox cart along the beach and see small groups of tourists collecting mud snails and stepping on clams, their graceful movements resembling a “sea disco.”

Introduction

Located in Qidong City. The scenic area was established in 1998, situated on the north side of the Yangtze River estuary, and is the largest freshwater wetland reserve in China (covering an area of 477.3 square kilometers).

The Yangtze River Estuary Monument, the earliest structure in the scenic area, was built in 1998, covering an area of 1,500 square meters. Its architecture is uniquely designed, integrating corridors, pavilions, towers, plaques, archways, and monuments organically. The entire monument is shaped like a ship, facing east, giving it a dynamic feel.

The Dayu Stone Statue, located in the central part of the scenic area, stands 19.99 meters tall and covers an area of 1,800 square meters. The entire statue is majestic and rustic in style.

The YinYang Tower is situated outside the seawall in the northeast corner of the scenic area. Its concept is derived from the philosophy of “the round sky and square earth,” incorporating the idea of harmony between man and nature. From the tower, visitors can enjoy the magnificent beauty of the sunrise over the sea and the splendid sight of the Yangtze River sunset.

The Artificial Lake covers an area of 54,500 square meters. The large lake surrounds the base of the Dayu statue, with rippling blue waters and shuttle boats; the smaller lake reflects the European-style seaside resort, offering enchanting scenery that becomes even more unique and captivating at night. It serves as a one-stop leisure destination for visitors to eat, stay, play, and relax.

Square pavilions connected by corridors and waterside pavilions with long halls, all topped with glazed tiles, are modern garden architectural structures of exquisite beauty, embodying the essence of garden design.

There is also a large lawn covering 15,000 square meters, covered with lush green grass and shaded by trees and flowers, providing an activity space full of natural atmosphere for people living in bustling cities.
