Nantong Blue Calico Museum

The Nantong Blue Calico Museum was founded in 1997 by Wu Yuanxin, a Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts. It is China's first specialized museum integrating collection, exhibition, research, production, and business operations. It includes the Blue Art Research Institute of the Blue Calico Museum, the Ming and Qing Dye Workshops of the Blue Calico Museum, and the tourism product development and exhibition department.

The museum has collected and organized over 10,000 physical items and photographic materials dating from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the present, preserving a large number of outstanding folk crafts. It has also published the "Complete Collection of Chinese Blue Calico Patterns" in both the collection volume and the pattern volume.

In 2005, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Folk Literature and Art Association designated the Nantong Blue Calico Museum as a "Chinese Blue Calico Heritage Base."
