Maglev Train

The Maglev Train is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Shanghai Maglev Train runs from Longyang Road Station on Shanghai Metro Line 2 in the west to Pudong International Airport in the east, covering a total distance of 30 kilometers. It has a designed maximum operating speed of 431 km/h and a one-way travel time of just 7 minutes and 20 seconds. It is the world’s first high-speed maglev train put into commercial operation.

Operating Hours: 6:45–21:30. Trains run every 15 minutes from 6:45 to 17:00, every 20 minutes from 17:00 to 21:00, and every 30 minutes from 21:00 to 21:30.

Address: Longyang Road Maglev Station: No. 2100 Longyang Road (near Baiyang Road; exit 3 or 4 of Longyang Road Station on Shanghai Metro Line 2; accessible via bus routes 983, 976, Daqiao No. 5, Daqiao No. 6, and Shenjiang Line).

Maglev Airport Station: Located on the east side of the Pudong International Airport Terminal Building (directly connected via a 300-meter corridor).

Ticket Prices / Opening Hours: Standard one-way ticket: 50 RMB; round-trip: 80 RMB. VIP one-way ticket: 100 RMB; round-trip: 160 RMB. Passengers with same-day flight tickets receive a 20% discount on one-way tickets. Honored soldiers, retired cadres, and people with disabilities enjoy a 20% discount with valid ID. Children under 1.2 meters accompanied by an adult ride free. A separate 5 RMB fee is required to visit the Maglev Technology Exhibition Hall located on the ground floor of the Longyang Road Maglev Station with a same-day train ticket.
