Riverside Avenue is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a patriotic education base.

Highlights Riverside Avenue features a multi-layered, three-dimensional design. At the top of the flower- and grass-covered slopes, visitors can stand on spacious platforms to enjoy the magnificent views of the Bund on the west bank of the Huangpu River. Riverside Avenue is part of the Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone, a pedestrian walkway along the Huangpu River, with Shanghai’s Bund area lying directly across the water. Riverside Avenue is a tourist destination that combines sightseeing with green landscaping. Stretching along the Huangpu River from Dongchang Road Pier to Ta Tongzhan Pier, it spans approximately 2,500 meters—like an emerald ribbon with delightful scenery. In the center of Riverside Avenue lies a fountain plaza composed of 21 water jets, where water gently flows into the central pool. The riverside is lined with iron chain railings, and there are leisurely double benches along the shore. The combination of river and passing boats creates a beautiful view that captivates visitors.

In the Fudu World section of Riverside Avenue, a yacht pier transformed from an old dock adds unique charm. The pier features a striking large anchor and several mooring bollards. A massive fountain with over a hundred jets is equipped with colorful lights that shine brilliantly at night. Riverside Avenue integrates flood control walls, riverside promenades, waterfront platforms, musical fountains, and a yacht pier, earning it the title of Pudong’s “New Bund.”

During typhoon season each summer, the section of Riverside Avenue near Dongchang Road is prone to flooding and may become impassable along the shoreline.

Transportation Metro Line 2, bus routes 81, 82, 870, 871, and 872, as well as tunnels 3, 4, 5, and 6, all provide access. From the Bund, you can take a ferry from the intersection of East Jinling Road to the intersection of Dongchang Road in Pudong, which is both affordable and convenient.
