The entrance of the residence features an exquisitely designed classical ceremonial gate with upturned eaves. The front is adorned with a brick carving depicting “A Phoenix Playing with Peonies,” and the central panel is inscribed with the words “Splendor Reflects the Sun.” The back of the gate bears the inscription “Virtue Endures Through the Ages,” beneath which is a carved stone dragon. A bronze statue of Huang Yanpei stands in front of the main building, above which hangs a plaque inscribed with the words “Former Residence of Huang Yanpei,” handwritten by Comrade Chen Yun.
